24-year-old mother Sells her 2 months old baby to buy a motorcycle

Police detectives attached to Nnewi Division of the Anambra State Police Command on Saturday, July 8, arrested a 24-year-old mother Oluchi Emeobi, of Nnewi Ichi, Nnewi local government Area of the state.

The suspect conspired with her 26 year old female friend ,Nchedoch Richard, of the same address and sold her two months old baby to a woman popularly known as First Lady, who is now at large.

Two brothers beheaded by suspected cultists in Rivers State [Extremely Graphic photos]

Unknown cult gang members on Monday night invaded the Umudioga Community in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State killing at least five people including two brothers.

The siblings identified as Emeka and Ifeanyi Wobo were beheaded by the suspected cultists in Rumuokpareli, Ibio/Akpo community.


Police Public Relations Officer Nnamdi Omoni confirmed that a rival gang invaded Omudioga which resulted a clash with another gang in the community leading to the death of people while several others sustained injuries.

 I almost had a heart attack a while ago when a friend posted on his wall, that my own icon, American singer-songwriter, pastor evangelist, Don Moen  was  dead. Chai some bloggers would not kill us, Lord have mercy. 

A news website had reported earlier that the tel-evanglist died of brief illness.
 
But a visit to his social media pages however reveal otherwise, as the song-evangelist shared a picture of his father, himself, son and grandson- the four generations of his family.

Imo Gov. Rochas Okorocha Bars Traditional Rulers from Speaking "English language" at public functions

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has restrained traditional rulers from speaking the English language at public functions in the communities of the state. 

According to him, all monarchs in Imo State must speak the indigenous language at functions and conduct activities in their palaces in Igbo. 

The governor gave the order on Tuesday, July 11, during the handing over ceremony of the staff of office and certificate of recognition to 19 monarchs at the Government House, Owerri, Daily Sun reports.

Nigerian troops kill six terrorists as others flee into Lake Chad [photos]

Troops of 7 Brigade Special Forces, 8 Task Force Division, today, dislodged terrorists who have been gathering in Dawashi Gari village, in an area bordering the Lake Chad.

A statement issued on Tuesday, by Col Timothy Antigha, Deputy Director Public Relations said in the engagement Tuesday morning, gallant soldiers of the division killed 4 terrorists, while others fled, abandoning their motorcycles, which were recovered and destroyed, to prevent their being used to perpetrate terror on innocent villagers.

" There Will Be War if Northerners Attack Igbos Again"- Ex- gov of Abia, Orji Kalu says

Former Abia state governor, Orji Kalu has warned that there will be war if Igbos are attacked in any part of the country.

He was reacting to the recent quit notice given Igbos by northerners.
“Anybody that touches any Igbo man in terms of (saying) that we should quit; the country will go into war, and I will lead the war; if Igbos are touched”, he said in a show on Africa Independent Television, AIT.

INEC issues certificate of return to Davido's uncle, Ademola Adeleke

 NEC National Commissioner, Prince Adedeji Soyebi yesterday presented the Certificate of Return to the winner of the Osun West Senatorial bye-election, Mr Ademola Adeleke, at the INEC headquarters in Abuja.


Ademola who is the younger brother of the late Sen. Isiaka Adeleke, polled 97,480 votes to defeat former Sen. Mudashiru Hussein of the APC, who scored 66,116 votes.

'Kidnappers should be publicly executed to serve as deterrent to others' - Governor Umahi

With the case of Evans, the notorious kidnap kingpin still ongoing, Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has suggested that 'Death Penalty' serves as the capital punishment for any arrested kidnapper in Nigeria. According to him, they should be publicly executed in other to serve as a deterrent to others.

Speaking in Abakaliki during an anti-corruption summit organized by the state government, Umahi said if such punishment is being implemented, it will help reduce the high rate of kidnapping in Nigeria.

Gov. Obaseki Assigns portfolios to New Commissioners

The recently appointed commissioners to serve in the administration of Mr. Godwin Obaseki of Edo State have been assigned to various ministries in the state.

At the first Executive Council meeting (EXCO) held by the Obaseki-led Edo government, after a two-day retreat to bring the appointees up to speed with the administration, the commissioners were formally told the ministries under which they will serve.
 
While some commissioners were appointed to already existing ministries, others were assigned to ministries that were reorganised and renamed by the present administration.
