EU Regulators Slam Google $2.7 billion fine For Anti-Competitive Practices

  EU antitrust regulators slammed a record 2.42-billion-euro ($2.7 billion) fine on Alphabet unit Google on Tuesday by illegally favoring its shopping service.


The European Commission said the world’s most popular internet search engine has 90 days to end its anti-competitive practice or face penalty payments up to 5 percent of Alphabet’s average daily worldwide turnover.

                            
The action came after a seven-year long investigation prompted by scores of complaints from rivals such as U.S. consumer review website Yelp, TripAdvisor, UK price comparison site Foundem, News
Corp and lobbying group FairSearch.

Women Absorb And Retain DNA From Every Man They Have Sex With - Reports say

As unbelievable as this may sound, reports say women retain and carry living DNA from every man with whom they have sexual intercourse.

According to a new study by the University of Seattle and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center,  which discovered the startling information by accident, scientists were originally trying to determine if women who have been pregnant with a son might be more predisposed to certain neurological diseases that occur more frequently in males.

Nigeria Among Top 5 Fastest Growing Mobile Markets In The World

A new report by Ericsson has affirmed Nigeria’s place as one of the most exciting mobile market in the world as the country is now a key driver of growth in the sector.

The recently published Ericsson Mobility Report noted that Nigeria grew its mobile subscriptions by three million in the first quarter of 2017, the fifth fastest growing in the world. Mr Rutger Reman, Managing Director, Ericsson Nigeria while presenting the report in Lagos on Thursday, said that globally, there were 107 million new mobile subscriptions added in the quarter.

Buhari's Audio Message Is Fake - Femi Fani-Kayode

Femi Fani-Kayode, Nigeria's former aviation Minister is claiming that the voice message purportedly from President Muhammadu Buhari is fake.
In a Facebook post, Fani-Kayode wrote, “It was NOT President Buhari that spoke in todays sallah day audio recording. And for whoever it was to address the nation in hausa is deeply insulting. Hausa is not the lingua franca of Nigeria.”

One Third of young women would trade intelligence for bigger breasts, survey says

A substantial portion of young women, would choose bigger breasts over brains, according to a recent online survey.

The U.K. discount website MyVoucherCodes asked 1,100 18-25-year-old women if they would trade their IQ’s for bigger breasts. One-third of respondents said they would.
 
The survey, also found that 41 percent of women would rather have bigger breasts than a high IQ, and 24 percent of those who preferred bigger breasts said it was because it would make them “feel happier.”
