The memorial tribute even in honour of late Nollywood actress, Moji Olaiya held today at LTV Blue roof in Ikeja. Her remains is expected to arrive in the country today before her burial tomorrow morning at Ikoyi cemetery.

UK police names third London attacker as Youssef Zaghba

UK police has named Youssef Zaghba (right) as the third London attacker after Khuram Butt and Rachid Redouane were earlier announced

He's a Moroccan-Italian who is reported to have been stopped at an airport in Italy on suspicion that he was bound for Syria. London's Metropolitan Police Service said 22-year-old Zaghba was not a "person of interest" before Saturday's attack.
Media reports in Italy however said Italian authorities had alerted their British counterparts about his movements. The Italian newspaper Corriere della Serra said Zaghba was stopped at a Bologna airport in 2016 with a one-way ticket to Istanbul.

Edo pensioners urged to revalidate next week

In a bid to harmonise and prevent fraudulent collection of pension across the state, the government of Edo State, has called for eligible pensioners to turn up for the revalidation and biometrics exercise ongoing in the state.

According to a statement from the Office of the Chief Press Secretary (interim), the exercise is code-named ‘I Am Alive’.
"The one-week verification process will run from June 12 until June 16 this year, and will take place at the respective Local Government Headquarters in the state".

The Edo State chapter of the federal government’s Social Investment Programme (SIP), which offers micro credit to market women and men, cooperatives and traders’ associations, artisans, small-scale farmers, small business owners and youths across the 18 Local Government areas in the state, has commenced operations.
The focal person and state coordinator of the SIP, Rev S.O Uhunmwangho, on Monday, announced this in a statement, in which he also advised eligible individuals and corporate bodies to register for whichever categories of the programmes concerned them.

3 Corpers In Benue Found Missing Money & Returned It... NYSC DG rewards them

Director-General of the NYSC scheme, Brig.-Gen. Sulaiman Kazaure, has given cash rewards to three Corps members for returning large sums of money found at NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Benue State. 

The names of the corpers are;

Eno Sunday Jesam (BN/17A/1536), Ezenwa Chidera (BN/17A/1718), and Timothy Deborah Elewechi (BN/17A/2233).

Presenting them to the Director-General during his visit to the camp, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Eno AwakEssien, said Jesam found and returned N27,500 to the Camp Management while Chidera returned N17,000 and Elewechi, N10,750.

However, Pastor Mnguni of the ‘End Time Disciples Ministries’, did not stop there. He went further by driving a car over some of his members, feeding parts of a live rat to congregants, locking another in a deep freezer for over thirty minutes and causing yet more to strip off their clothes during his wild church services.

99 year old Virgin set to be immortalised in Akwa Ibom State

90-year old virgin, Miss Agnes Udofia who lives her life caring for other people’s children is set to be immortalized by the people of ikot Udobia village, in the Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
Reports are that over 50 women, men and even children gathered around her on Monday to thank God for preserving the life of a woman they all thought was their biological mother.

Mr. Fabian Udoh, A businessman who was trained by the virgin, said since he was a kid, he never saw her with any man in a relationship.

Abia Police arrest pastor who operates baby factory, illegal medical centre in his church; rescued pregnant teenagers claim he raped them

The Abia State Police Command have arrested a pastor who operates an illegal medical centre and Baby Factory in his church. Briefing newsmen on Monday, June 5th, at the State Police Headquarters, Umuahia, the Commissioner of Police, CP Adeleye Oyebade, who parade the pastor along with other suspect, disclosed that on May 24th,, information was received that a storey building located at Faulks Road Aba, which doubles as a Church and Medical centre was converted to Baby Factory.
Based on this information, a team of Policemen attached to Ariaria Division led by the DPO stormed the premises where five pregnant young girls were rescued and one Christopher Adebanya Tochukwu, the Pastor of the Church and the operator of the clinic who earlier fled the scene was arrested.

Court Orders Final Forfeiture Of Ikoyi’s $43.4m, £27,800, N23.2m To FG

Justice Hassan of the Federal High Court has ordered the final forfeiture of $43.4m, £27,800, N23.2m to the Federal Government.

Recall that the judge ordered the temporary forfeiture of the sums of $43,449,947, £27,800 and N23,218,000 recovered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission from an apartment in the Ikoyi area of Lagos some months ago.

 On May 30th, Mrs Aisha Buhari departed Nigeria to London to be with her husband, President Buhari, who is receiving medical treatment for an undisclosed ailment. She arrived back in Nigeria on Monday night through the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. Speaking to Journalists present, she said;

Singer, The Weeknd donates $100,000 to Medical Center in Uganda

Canadian singer and songwriter, The Weeknd has donated $100,000 to the Suubi Health Center, a maternity and children’s medical facility located in Budondo, Uganda, to help fund a new clinic

According to E! News, the “Starboy” singer was motivated to make a donation because of French Montana’s work to raise awareness for the health center through Global Citizen, a social action platform, and Mama Hope Organisation in Uganda.

In March 2017, French Montana traveled to Suubi community in Uganda where he shot the 'Unforgettable' music video and was inspired by the visit that he pledged the first $100,000 donation to help pay for ambulances, premature incubators, cribs and a blood bank for the community.

Lucky Way: Benin residents hail Obaseki on infrastructure, Tip governor for massive success

Residents and workers along Lucky Way in Benin City, the Edo State capital, have expressed gratitude to Governor Godwin Obaseki for responding speedily to rectify the bad state of their road, which had fallen into disrepair due to abandonment for over a decade.

This was as the governor, unannounced, inspected work progress along the only major road connecting the centrally located Ramat Park with Iwogban Estates and Uteh Community.
Prior to the governor’s intervention, which heralded the awarding of contract for, and commencement of the road’s repair, the residents explained that they suffered neglect and faced terrible times during the rainy season due to flooding in the area, which had also affected their businesses.

A suspected cultist was allegedly shot and beheaded by another rival cult in Ikpo community, Ikwerre, River State. According to Jackreece Sokari, who commented on the photos shared by a Facebook user, Theophilus Utchaychukwu, he said the cultist and his members were allegedly involved in a fierce battle with another rival cult on Saturday night and was killed during the fight while others escaped. PDP Makarfi-faction distances self from Dokpesi's new party APDA

The Ahmed Makarfi faction of PDP has denied media reports that it is part of the new political party floated yesterday, Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA) [see here]. Some section in the media had earlier reported that Makarfi was part of the new party. PDP says the party is neither an offshoot of its party. Nigerian Church Shares Food To Many Fasting Muslims

The Christ Evangelical Intercessory Fellowship Ministry, Sabon Tasha, Kaduna has doled out over 500 food packs to Muslims, since the beginning of the Ramadan.

Pastor Yohanna Buru,the Church General Overseer, told NAN in Kaduna on Monday that the food packages and drinks were shared out to destitutes and the poor.

He said that the Church was in the forefront of promoting religious tolerance in Kaduna State, adding that the gesture was to deepen peaceful co-existence between Muslims and Christians.
“We must support our brothers and sisters with what to eat in these 30 days, in view of the high cost of food items in local markets.

Edo Govt commences training for traffic officers

As part of its measures to upgrade traffic management in the state, the government of Edo State, on Monday, conducted aptitude tests to commence the training process for potential Traffic Control Officers, who enrolled in the Edo Jobs Initiative.

This was in furtherance of the Governor Obaseki-led administration’s project to decongest traffic in the state, which had already kicked-off with clean-up projects and large-scale reconstruction of link roads in key areas of Benin City, the state capital.
The aptitude test, said Mr Dennis Oloriegbe, the Managing Director of the Edo State Traffic Control and Management Agency, was the second phase of the recruitment exercise to fill positions in the agency.

World Environment Day: Edo plans big for forest revival

Edo state governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, on Monday, outlined part of his administration’s agenda to salvage forest resources from degradation, revealing that in addition to the GPS land imaging system commissioned in Benin four months ago, a firm had also been engaged to capture another 2000km2.

He made this known in Benin City during the 2017 World Environment Day themed “Connecting People to Nature”, which, he also noted, was the biggest annual environment event in the state, while calling on Edo citizens to acknowledge the importance of protecting the earth against abuse by mankind.

Ex-AIT Chairman, Raymond Dokpesi and former Labor party chairman, Dan Iwuanyanwu, float new party, APDA

Former Chairman of AIT and a chieftain of the PDP, Raymond Dokpesi and former Labor party chairman, Dan Anyanwu, this morning unveiled a new political party, The Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA).

The unveiling ceremony is right about now taking place at Reiz Continental Hotels in Abuja.
According to Iwuanyanwu, the slogan of the party is “Stronger Toget‎her”, and the interim chairman is Shitu Mohammed Kabiru. According to the twitter handle of the new party, Dokpesi attended the party's stakeholders meeting. He was however absent at the unveiling ceremony.
