Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, on Thursday, swore in a seven-member Edo House of Assembly Service Commission, which will serve for a tenure of five years.

Obaseki, while congratulating them on their appointment, tasked them on professional ethics and not be found wanting in the discharge of their duties.

Court hands cash EFCC discovered in Lagos to Federal Govt


The Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered that the $38million, N23million and £27,000, recovered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in a residential building located at Osborne Towers, Ikoyi be temporarily forfeited to the Nigerian government.

In a ruling presided by Justice Muslim Hassan this afternoon, he ordered that the funds be handed over to the Federal Government pending when the owner surfaces to make a court case against the order. The case was adjourned until May 5, 2017.

Police arrest Nigerian man and his 52-year-old Indian girlfriend for fraud

The Thalaghattapura police, India on Wednesday, April 12, arrested a 41-year-old Nigerian national, Andrew a.k.a. Eric Peters and his 52-year-old Indian girlfriend on the charge of duping a woman of Rs 50 lakh, with a fake business proposal through a website.
The police who took up the cases, approached the accused as a prospective client offering them huge sums of money and, trapped them. The two were arrested when they came to collect the money.
