D'Tigers win Afrobasket 2015: Nigeria calim first ever title
The Nigerian national men’s basketball team have won the 2015 Afrobasket tournament, held in Tunisia.

A 74-65 victory over Angola in the finals gave D’Tigers their first Afrobasket trophy.
It was also the first time Nigeria would win their Angolan counterparts, having lost all previous meetings.

Chamberlain Oguchi led the way for Nigeria, finishing with a game-high 19 points, and was named the tournament’s MVP.
“It’s the best moment of my life, to be able to come here after missing the last AfroBasket, to be able to come here and do this with my brothers, it feels amazing,” Oguchi said afterwards.
“I’m happy to be able to share this moment with them and for me personally, it’s just really great.”
The win means Nigeria have qualified for the 2016 Olympics, where they’d hope for a better performance than last time, where they suffered a humiliating 156 – 73 loss.
Angola, who have 11 Afrobasket titles, will play in the Olympic Qualifying Tournaments, alongside third- and fourth-placed Tunisia and Senegal.
