unbelievable allegation: PDP paid $100 million to Judge to disqualify Buhari, APC Claims

Nigeria’s main opposition party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, alleged on Thursday that the ruling People’s Democratic  Party, PDP, had set ‎aside 100 million dollars to bribe a judge who will disqualify its presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari. ‎APC publicity secretary Lai Mohammed made the allegation at a press conference in Lagos without naming his source.

He said he was holding the press conference based on a rumour he heard.‎ ‎“The rumour mill is spinning fast. Stories abound of a huge war chest of 100 million dollars being earmarked to grease the palm of any pliable Judge who can disqualify Gen. Buhari and halt the electoral process.

“We do not know whether or not this allegation is true, but we do know that Nigerians do not want to return to ‘Egypt’. We have been down this road before with disastrous consequences, and we do not want to tread that path again. Never before has so much been deployed just to stop the candidacy of just one man!”
Such allegations are common in Nigeria ‎during elections and are often not based on concrete facts or reliable sources. Four activists have gone to court and alleged that Buhari does not have the qualification he claimed in form CF001 he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Buhari claimed that he had obtained a West African School Certificate in 1961. But he did not attach it to form CF001, and claimed to have lost it in 1985 when he was overthrown from power and his house was ransacked.
