There is serious controversy surrounding the death of three occupants of a flat in Agharase Adu street, off Sapele Road, Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of Edo State just as the state police command has confirmed the arrest of two suspects.
It would be recalled that the three persons were alleged to have died as a result of inhaling generator fume on Sunday from the kitchen after preparing to go clubbing around Benin.
Speaking with newsmen yesterday in Benin City, the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Nkombe Moses disclosed that two female who died in the apartment were students of Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi noting that the two suspects arrested were those who invited the two female students to the house.
"Two persons have been arrested and they are the owners of the apartment", he said.
Also, the deceased, two females and one male, were said to have been found dead by two other occupants of the flat at about 3am on Sunday.
One of the deceased females was said to have found lying dead at the lobby while the other was lying down on the bed with her shoes on while the male was found naked in the room.
It was gathered that brothers to the deceased male who returned home from a party that raised the alarm.
Bodies of the deceased have since been taken to the morgue by policemen from Etete Police Division.
A visit to the compound yesterday showed that the residents have deserted the house.
A source who preferred anonymity said the police have arrested a man with a laptop.
"There is nobody left in the compound as you can see except a dog but funny enough, since the incident, the dog which used to be very aggressive has become so docile. Everybody has left the compound.The police came to the house and arrested one person with a laptop", the source said.
