Edo PDP reacts to Lagos and Edo privileged to access World Bank loan in Africa

Surprised to read a statement from the governor issued by the CPS, Mr Mayaki, condemning the leadership of PDP for daring to ask begging questions as regards the true debt profile of Edo State.

            

Mr Chris Nehikhare, the State Publicity Secretary, recalled that the party drew the attention of governor Godwin Obaseki to the concern of Edo Citizens over the deliberate decision of not disclosing the actual debt profile and the details of the content of the handover note received from his predecessor.

He quoted the State Chairman who said "It is true that Adams Oshiomhole accessed $150m controversial world bank loan at 1% interest over a 20 year period, at which time if God willing, he will be in the prestigious octogenarian club!

Granted that Adams may have taken the loan as a result of his limited knowledge in financial matters, we are surprised that a self styled financial expert in the person of Gov. Godwin Obaseki, cannot read between the lines"

The chairman of Edo PDP, Chief Dan Osi Orbih, went on to challenge Gov Obaseki to disclose the exchange rates at the time the money was borrowed, the current exchange rate and the projected exchange rate at the time the money will be paid.




Can the governor still refer to the loan as one that was accessed at less than 1% interest rate? I make bold to say that the loan at the time of repayment will be the most expensive ever in Africa. I strongly advice these self proclaimed economic experts to go and sort out the embarrassing case of fake certificate and forged affidavit at the Federal High Court in Benin, that is of great concern to the good people of Edo State. At the end of this, we will know who are the economic illiterates! Chief Orbih affirmed!

Governor Obaseki 100 days: Matters Arising.

1. He has not told us the whereabout of the N11b Paris Club refund he collected on behalf of Edo people. He has been mute as if he wishes Edo people are not aware of this windfall.

2. He has not told us what he and his Godfather, former governor Adams Oshiomhole, did with $54m received from the federal government in 2014.

3. He has not told us Why close to N1 billion  cash has been paid out so far invoking audit waiver.

4. Four months after the dubious commissioning of the Emergency ward, cum "five star specialist hospital", there is no sign that the building situated along Sapele is been put to use. Governor Obaseki should tell us if the N500m budgeted for the completion will be the last of such as this project is looking more and more like a financial drain pipe to siphon Edo State money.
