Edo AIG decorates 49 officers, admonishes them to Adherent to ethic rules

The Assistant Inspector. General of Police (AIG), Zone 5, in-charged of Edo, Delta and Beaylsa, Abubarkar Adamu Mohammed has admonished and decorated some police officers, who had distinguished themselves in their various field of career.

AIG Abubarkar made the statement in the command premises when he was addressing the newly promoted officers for their selfless service to zone, state and the nation at large in Benin city.

He disclosed that the promotion execrise was an idea and initiative of the Inspector General of Police (lG), ldris lbrahim to give the officers their legitimate rights, as enshrined in the police ethics law and to make leave a meaningful living to enable restrain and shun corrupt acts.



According to the AlG, he urged them to imbibe the rules, ethics, work hard and adherent to the code of conduct of the force to enable them get to the top. Abubarkar's also cautioned the officers. He thanked the lG and the Police Service Commission (PSM) for making it possible to promote these officers at the appropriate time.

" The on-going promotion exercise in the Force is part of the Inspector General of Police is commitment towards addressing the welfare of officers, and men of the force. Let me remind you that your promotion comes, at the right time, considering the security challenges facing our dear country, and urge you to re-double your effort and re-dedicate yourselves for the task ahead, " he stressed.

Responding on behalf of the newly promoted police officers, (DSP) Solomon lkuero, said they will not let the force down that the would give them more zeal to work harder and stay focus in their duty.

They thanked God, lG, PSM and the AlG for deeming it fit to actualize their promotion at the appropriate time. DSP Solomon lkuero averred that the promotion them confidence to do more of their job in their various positions.
