Prison Break Reloaded: 6 Inmates Escape Jail By Tunnelling Through Wall Behind Toilet [photos]

A manhunt is underway after a gang of prisoners escaped a US prison by tunnelling out behind a cell toilet. Six inmates gave themselves the gift of freedom on Christmas Day by breaking out of Cocke County Jail in the US state of Tennessee.

Eric Click, John Mark Speir, Steven Edward Lewis, David Frazier, John Shehee, and Harce Allen all made a dash for freedom in a daring jailbreak. The prisoners managed to break a toilet away from a wall and tunnel through the concrete behind it, replacing the toilet to hide their escape route.
Rusted screws and recent plumbing repairs to the piping behind it apparently made all of this possible.

An inmate still inside the cell – which holds some 23 people – is then believed to have helped the escapees by pushing the toilet back up against the wall to make it look as if nothing had happened.
