British Comedy Legend, Ronnie Corbett Dies at 85

British comedian Ronnie Corbett has died aged 85, it was announced this morning He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Anne Hart, and the couple's two daughters  
British comedy icon Ronnie Corbett has died surrounded by his family aged 85, it was announced today. The comedian is best known for his appearances alongside Ronnie Barker in The Two Ronnies in the 1970s and 1980s.


A statement from his publicist said: 'Ronnie Corbett CBE, one of the nation's best-loved entertainers, passed away this morning, surrounded by his loving family. They have asked that their privacy is respected at this very sad time.'



Corbett collapsed at a meal to celebrate his CBE in 2012, but  made a recovery and was said be 'enjoying life'  
Corbett is survived by his wife, Anne Hart, with whom he celebrated his golden wedding anniversary last year, and the couple's two daughters, actresses Emma and Sophie Corbett, who are both in their forties. 

Fans and figures from the world of entertainment have flooded Twitter with tributes to the entertainer.
