The police has shot and killed a middle aged man in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State, after he allegedly killed 6 people he suspected to have been responsible for  his food poisoning.

The man identified as Onana Osua, who is the chairman of a motor park in Uromi; was said to have left the hospital a sad man after he was told by the hospital management that he had five days to live due to the poisoning he allegedly suffered, and immediately went home to pick his gun and subsequently paid an August visit to the six people he shot dead.

The deceased, who was said to have killed the wife of one of his targets when he got to their residence, fled to the neighbouring Ubiaja community where he shot an on coming police patrol van.

The police patrol van responded to the attack and gunned the deceased down in self-defence. The Edo State Police spokesman, DSP Abiodun Osifo, however, confirmed three persons dead while others are in critical condition in the hospital.

He explained that Osua shot at a police team before the police fired back.

“It was after the incident our men discovered that he went on a killing spree and shot at the police before he met his death,” he said.

  1. I know what he was going through was grievous but even at that he had no right to kill anyone. Why didn't he do a follow up on where ate through that week or month so that they can be arrested and interrogated. Hmmmmmm, end time signs.

  2. Had the policeman not shot him he would have killed as many as more than six people.
