PDP NWC members divided over Oyo, Ogun, Taraba primaries

crises have reportedly hit the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the conduct of today”s party primaries for the selection of its candidates for  state assembly election.

Saturday Tribune learnt that the situation degenerated on Friday when some members of the NWC of the party threatened to expose all that transpired in the handling of the exercises since the last set of congresses in some states.

It was gathered that some of the members of the NWC alleged that huge sums of money actually exchanged hands in most of the states which led to the changing of authentic delegate lists with fake ones as alleged by the aspirants.

According to investigation, another bone of contention was the suspension of today’s primaries in Oyo, Taraba and Ogun states which, it was learnt, did not enjoy the support of most of the members of the NWC.

While it was gathered that the NWC actually approved the suspension of the exercise in only Oyo and Taraba states at its last meeting, the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, is alleged to have included that of  Ogun State without  the knowledge of any member of the NWC, a development which other members reportedly frowned upon.
