Kebbi Assembly Memebers resign to join APC

Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Habib Musa Jega, his deputy Mohammed Bena, Majority Leader Aliyu Muhammad, the chief whip, deputy chief whip and many other principal officers resigned from the leadership of the assembly yesterday.

Jega, who confirmed the resignation  yesterday in Birnin Kebbi said: “We don’t want to say on what grounds for now. But I want you to understand that we tendered our resignations because of the injustice meted on us in our capacities as leaders of the assembly, especially at the last delegates conference. We felt since there is no justice in the PDP, we decided to switch to another party. That is just the reason,” he said.

Daily Trust gathered that other aggrieved members of the party such as the former Comptroller Zone ‘B’ of the Nigerian Customs Service, Hussaini Zango Kangiwa, many top government officials, two serving senators and many members of the state assembly are to be received by the  APC leadership at rally on Monday in Birnin Kebbi.

Kangiwa, when contacted, also confirmed the development to our reporter. “I can’t give you the exact number. Just wait and see the calibre of people that will be received by the APC in Birnin Kebbi”, he said.
