Rain takes over benin city in edo state

Recidents in the ancient city of Benin may soon have to resolve to the use of canoes as flood seems to have taking over the major streets in Benin, the capital city of Edo State. Many have attributed the flood to the seven days which according to tradition normally falls within the last of August or September.

The rain grounded activities today as movement was made almost impossible due to the heavy down pour and the the flood. We spoke to some residents in Benin, who expressed worries over the possible effect the flood may bring to the city if the rain continues. As it seems builders of canoe may have to relocate to benin for possible business boom should the rains continue.
