Group Commends Umahi for his Visionary and Astuteness in Governance, Suggests ways forward for the South East Leaders

Lady Monica Eze the President and Founder of a vibrant and virile grassroots NGO, the David Umahi Nweze Akubaraoha Ebonyi Transformation Agenda (DUNAETA) has described Governor David Nweze Umahi as the King Solomon of our generation for exhibiting high level of wisdom in discharge of his duties and piloting the affairs of Ebonyi State particularly how he used his office as the Chairman of the South East Governors’ Forum to ensure that the plot to annihilate the Igbo race was scuttled.

Lady Monica who though is from Ebonyi State is actually born in Adamawa State truly appreciates the wisdom demonstrated by the South East Governors' Forum in dousing the tensed environment as she knows the implication if not arrested the way Governor Umahi and his colleagues did, what this would have had on the Igbos residing in the North should the youths from the North have reacted negatively based on some of the actions of our youths in the South East during this period.

For Governor Umahi in conjunction with other Governors from the South East to have succeeded to douse the highly volatile and tensed environment by taken the actions they took surely demonstrates that the South East Governors can be trusted as true Igbo Leaders and should be accorded the required respect and honour for saving the Igbo race from annihilation and scuttling a war that would have taken us a race hundred years backward to survive.

DUNAETA Leader also congratulated the Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, Kashim Shettima who played a very vital and patriotic role in collaborating and initiating several peaceful meetings to ensure that the plots of the enemies of our country did not come to pass. For the Northern Governors Forum to have sent some delegates to the SS & SE States to assure the nation of the safety and security of Igbos in the North simply show their love for one virile, vibrant, egalitarian, indissoluble and united Nigeria.

Lady Monica Ada Chidinma Eze Aka Ada EBONYI who also doubles as the Technical Adviser To Governor Umahi further stated that no matter the stand of any body, these Governors have done noble in preserving the unity of our Nation and demonstrated Leadership when it matters most and therefore deserve our respect and honour.

In the Press Statement circulated on Friday in Abakaliki, the DUNAETA president admonishes members of IPOB to take another look at their style of agitation as not to jeopardise the hug investment people from the South East have made in other parts of the country and avoid any further action that will portray our region in bad light before other regions. Igbos are very respectfully and resourceful people and we will excel the more in a bigger country like Nigeria than any other enclave. Dialogue is the key and ingredient to achieve whatever we intend to achieve as a region.

Having said this, I will like to urge the Federal Government under the able leadership of our father, President Muhammad Buhari to critically and passionately look at the issues that gave birth to these agitations and address them accordingly to avoid the reoccurrence of this unwarranted situation in our polity that is capable of scuttling our fragile democracy.

It is a fact that the SE region has suffered untold neglects in areas of dwindling and decayed infrastructure. More serious efforts must be channelled to address the unmotorable roads in the South East region. The second Niger Bridge must be delivered. The region must be linked with rail lines and most importantly our teeming unemployed youths must be employed and not discriminated against any more.

Finally, the additional State due to the region must be created. We urge a powerful Team comprising of our Governors, Leadership of Ohanaze Ndi Igbo, Traditional, Religious and political leaders from the region should sit and articulate these views and meet our dear President over them as a matter of urgency to show that the our region is not truly targeted to be under developed and motivate our youths never to rise up again against their Nation.

As I commend and congratulate my able Governor for demonstrating to the entire world that Ebonyi State has the very potential to show the light to our Nation, let me conclude by urging the Ebonyi Youths to unite and see the Umahi's administration as their own and in that regard Strategies to ensure the success of Engr David Nweze Umahi re-election bid come 2019 as it will be difficult to get any other youth friendly government like that of the Umahi's administration.

Gov. Umahi has proved without any doubt that he is a divine tool to reinvigorate and reposition Ebonyi State as one of the greatest States in Nigeria so the need for us the youths to unite behind him not be overemphasised.
