Nigeria's "Minister of DARKNESS", Fashola Tops APC's list of Best Performing Ministers in Buhari's Cabinet

Its no longer news that Nigeria is currently experiencing the worse power situation in the history of the country; but despite the recent drop in  the National Grid and increase in tariff which has not gone down well with many Nigerians, the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday released names of  best performing ministers of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.

The ruling party made the announcement in a tweet on its official Twitter handle in the early hours of Thursday, February 9.

According to their release, Babatunde Fashola a one time Lagos state governor now minister of power, works and housing who due to his disappointing performance as minister of power, has been labeled "MINISTER of DARKNESS" by many Nigerians, topped the list as best performing member of the president Buhari's cabinet. His party, the APC believes he has done marvelously well since he took over leadership of the 3 most demanding ministries and has performed excellently in service delivery

Second on the list is the  minister of transport Chibuike Amaechi. Amaechi is the  immediate past governor of Rivers state, whose record as Governor remains a subject for probe.  Since Ameachi took over as transport minister, no remarkable and outstanding project has been executed. Nigerians will rate him very low compare to what is party is saying. Some even say that,  despite the minister of information - Lai Mohammed's excellent performance at churning out controversial stories about the presidency,  is said to have performed better than Amaechi.

Third on the list is Minister of state for petroleum Ibe Kachikwu. He is the immediate past General Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). The position is now held by Maikanti Baru. Those who have followed Mr. Kachikwu's record without exhibiting any of sensationalism or bias  would agree that Ibe deserves what ever encomium his party has poured on him

Also on the list is the foreign affairs minister Geoffrey Onyeama. Onyeama played a huge role in the resolution of the political crisis that nearly tore The Gambia apart in January 2017.

The party however did not mention the basis on which the ministers’ performances were measured.

Interestingly, Kemi Adeosun and her counterpart Udoma Udo Udoma names were missing from the APC list. Perhaps, It might be due to their poor economic policies and budgetary that made them score low on the party's preference list.
