Tension in Benin over Arrest and Remand of Osakpamwa Eriyo AKA Nomoles

 

There was tension at the headquarters of Edo State Police command yesterday, following the arrest and detention of APC youth leader in Oredo Local Government and Edo State chairman road transport employers association of Nigeria, RTEAN Mr Osakpamwa Eriyo AKA Nomoles . 

Mr Osakpamwa who is currently cooling his heels at the Benin central prisons popularly referred to as White House , was said to have met his ordeal when he allegedly made inflammatory statement on the secretary of Edo State APC chief Ida, which the complainant categories as threat to life and attempted murder. 

This threat according to chief Ida can not be treated with kid gloves, following the mysterious assassination of his father some years ago. Information at the disposal of news men indicate that the hands of the EDO state commissioner of Mr police Mr Haliru Gwandu and all principal officers are tight on the matter. 

Neither Edo State governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, nor has any principal member of the APC made official statement on the matter. 

Mr Osakpamwa was whisked away to the prison with an Almond vehicle carrier because of the thugs that took over the premises of the police headquarters in solidarity of the suspect.
