Breaking: Godwin Obaseki Wins APC Edo Guber Primary

Godwin Obaseki has emerged winner of the gubernatorial primary of the All Progressives Congress in Edo state which held Saturday.   A total of 2,873 delegates participated in the primaries with 12 aspirants vying for the ticket of governorship 

Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State, the leader of the party’s national delegation that conducted the primary election, announced the results in Benin, the state capital.


According to Mr. Masari, Mr. Obaseki scored 1,618 votes to defeat his 11 opponents; following by Edo state deputy governor ius Odubu, who polled 471 votes; former minister of state for works, Chris Ogiemwonyi, 137 votes, popularly acclaimed Rice Man Ken Imasuagbon, 247 votes. 


Other candidates in the race scored as follows: Blessing Agbomere, 5 votes, former PDP flag bearer Charles Ariavbere only managed to pull 11 votes, former governor of the state Osunbor scored 9 votes, while Amadasun, 8 votes, Osula, 10 votes, Austin, 7 votes, Peter Esele, 8 votes respectively.



A total of 41 votes were voided. 

Mr. Obasaki is expected to run against candidates from other political parties in the general elections holding in September this year.

PDP in the state holds her primaries tomorrow.
