A former National Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Umeh, who was arrested on Thursday for sponsoring pro-Biafra, has been released by the Department of State Services (DSS).
Umeh, who was arrested on Thursday at his Aguluzigbo country home in Anambra State and later whisked to Abuja for questioning on his alleged sponsorship of the pro-Biafra group, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), was released on Friday morning.
The party’s Deputy Secretary, Chief Jerry Obasi, confirmed Umeh’s release.
He, however, alleged that the arrest was politically motivated by his political opponents.
