David Ugolor Petitions Police over seized properties

The Executive Director of Africa Network for Environment and Economic Justice, Reverend David Ugolor who was arrested and detained following the killing of the principal private secretary to the Edo State Governor, Comrade Olaitan Oyerinde has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Abubakar over his unreturned property which were removed from him inspite of having been discharged and acquitted by a Benin Magistrates Court. Ugolor in a petition signed by his lawyer, Olayiwola Afolabi, addressed to the Inspector General of Police and made available to newsmen in Benin City yesterday said the items comprising one Blackberry cell phone, one Samsung cell phone, two Nokia cell phone, one Ipad, UBA cheque book number 33788914, two Glo sim card packs, two MTN welcome sim packs, four sim lines, one Airtel sim card were collected from him during interrogation when he was unlawfully arrested and detained by the police for forty one days.

Rev’d Ugolor who claims to have written several letters to the police authority for the police investigative team who collected the seized items to return them but to no avail, issued a 14 day ultimatum to the Inspector General of Police to return his property else he would be forced to take appropriate legal steps to get them returned to him. .
