Akwa Ibom LG chairman arrested for smuggling $82,000 into the US

Mr Nse Ntuen the LGA chairman of Essien Udim in Akwa Ibom state, has been arrested at the BWI International Airport in Baltimore, Maryland on Friday August 16th for smuggling $82, 000 into the US which he claimed was meeant for the Annual International Convention of the Akwa Ibom Indigents in the US and Canada which held on Saturday at the Marriot Hotel in Washington, DC.

Mr Ntuen was released from custody after five hours but sources said without the money which is believed to have been confiscated by the The Maryland State Police Department .
