North Korea Claims CIA Plots To Assassinate Kim Jong Un

The Republic of North Korea under the regime of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un has on Friday accused the American and South Korean intelligence services of plotting to assassinate the leader with "biochemical substances," a move it characterized as a "last-ditch effort" of "imperialists" that was "beyond the limits."
The allegation was made by the North's ministry of state security and published by state-run media. It comes amid soaring tensions on the Korean peninsula over whether the North will try to conduct a sixth nuclear test — in defiance of United Nations security council resolutions.

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, yesterday, announced that a prize of N5m would be given to the Local Government Council that would achieve the highest immunisation coverage in the state this year, adding that his administration would restructure the popular Oba Market located in the heart of Benin City.

This was as the flagged off the second round of the National Immunization Plus Days (NIPDs) at Urhokpota Ground in Benin on Friday.

Today, the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, arrived at his hometown in Isiama Afara, Umuahia in Abia, where he met his parents, Eze Israel and Ugoeze Nnenne Kanu exactly one week after his release from Kuje Prison in Abuja.

Kanu was arrested in 2015 and locked up in prison for treason and his agitations for the Republic of Biafra from Nigeria.

Several people have been hospitalised on Thursday, following a bloody clash between supporters of Atiku Abubakar and a rival gang loyal to a former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, in Ganye, Adamawa state.
According to Daily Nigerian, former Vice President Atiku and Adamawa State Governor, Bindow had visited the town on Wednesday ahead of a turbaning ceremony on Thursday, where they also launched a political tour of three local governments of the Ganye Chiefdom.

A Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Apo, Abuja, Thursday, adjourned to May, 18th, 2017, the Ten Billion Naira (N10b) defamation suit filed by ex-husband of missing Abuja business woman, Charity Aiyedogbon, Mr. David Aiyedogbon against controversial Lagos lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye.

The adjournment followed a motion filed by the defendant, Mr. Ugwuonye, challenging the twenty thousand Naira (20,000.00) fine earlier slammed on him by the Court for refusing to move an earlier motion he filed challenging the jurisdiction of the Court to hear the matter.

Obaseki, religious leaders to strengthen education in Edo As Edo Gov tasks AAU alumni on education

Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has called on religious leaders in the state to collaborate with his administration to strengthen the state’s educational system as he hosted new executives of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Edo State Chapter, led by the Chairman, Bishop Oyonnude Kure at Edo State Government House in Benin City, on Wednesday.

According to an official statement, the 49-year-old Nigerian national was arrested after officers from the drug squad carried out a raid on his St Paul's Bay hotel room and discovered 50 capsules of cocaine in circumstances indicating that they were not intended for his personal use.

Obaseki to reaccredit nursing school, make it top-notch

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has said his administration would work with the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) to reaccredit the School of Nursing and Midwifery in the state before October, and thereafter make it a world class Nursing School.

FRSC to dismiss female officers if caught violating dress code

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has vowed to dismiss or demote female officers if caught violating the commission's dress code. This comes a month after Rivers State Sector Commander, Andrew A Kumapayi, and other senior officers were recalled after the commander was seen at a parade cutting off the hair extension of two female corps for not abiding by the dress code rules.

Speaking on Wednesday in Abuja on the update of the case of the officers whose hair extension were cut off, FRSC Corps Marshall, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi told The Guardian that strict measures will now be applied if anyone is being caught violating commission's dress codes.

Shippers Council to establish container depot in Edo

Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has indicated his administration’s readiness to support the Nigeria Shippers Council (NSC) to establish an Inland Container Depot and a Truck Transit Terminal, which would facilitate diversity in economic activities.

This was at the Edo State Government House in Benin City where he received the management of Nigerian Shippers Council, on Wednesday.
