Governor Ayodele Fayose has expressed hope that President Muhammadu Buhari regains his health and return fully to work.

 Speaking in a recent interview, he said death is not a respecter of person.

Youth Corps Member Trying To Rob Ecobank ATM Arrested In Kogi

A National Youth Service Corps member serving in Kogi State has been arrested for allegedly breaking into an Automated Teller Machine of a new generation bank, with the intention to steal.

The man identified as Aka-Jude Tersoo was among the 36 suspects arrested in the last one week in the state. The police also arrested five persons believed to be members of the Boko Haram sect were apprehended by the officers and men of the command.

Speaking more on the arrested criminals yesterday in Lokoja, the Commissioner of Police, Wilson Inalegwu, said that the culprit, Akah Jude Tersoo, who was posted to the state for the one-year national service, was apprehended alongside an accomplice, Godwin Idih, on April 26th around 2.30am.
Inalegwu said the arrested men were caught while attempting to break the ATM belonging to the EcoBank with digger and axe with the aim to rob the bank.

The Minister of Justice and Attorny-General of the Federation, AGF, Abubkar Malami who is a member of the panel headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo dropped the hints on Tuesday while speaking to State House correspondents after a private meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa, Abuja.

Immediate past governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, was on Tuesday morning docked for allegedly inciting his supporters to violence.

Lamido was docked on a four-count charge at a court in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital.

Obaseki vows to construct 3,000km roads in Edo by 2020

The Edo state Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has promised to construct 3,000 kilometer roads across the state before the end of his tenure in 2020 to ease traffic.

Obaseki who disclosed this while commissioning Nevis Street in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo state yesterday declared that he has come yo change the face of politics in Nigeria.

The governor said Edo doesn't need foreign exchange to construct road and deliver other dividends of democracy to the people as the state is richly blessed with abundant mineral, human and the natural resources which if harnessed will enhance the well being of its people.

Breaking: Fire Outbreak At Oba Of Lagos' Palace

A section of the palace of Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, in the Iga Iduganran area of Lagos Island has been gutted by fire.

According to PUNCH Metro, the fire started from an air condition in an apartment inside the palace, destroying furniture and other household items in the room.

Lawyer petition Police AIG, alleges death threat over Priest health

A Warri-based lawyer, Mrs Stella Anetor has petitioned the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 5, Mr Abubakar Muhammed saying her life and that of her family is no longer safe because she wants to full investigation into the attempted murder on Reverend Father Stephen Ekakabor, a priest at St Joseph Catholic Church Okpare-Olomu in Delta State.

The former leaders agreed to pay Buhari a visit after they had a meeting with former military leader, Ibrahim Babangida in Minna yesterday.

In the meeting which lasted for two hours, the former leaders expressed concern over the secrecy behind the current state of President Buhari.

New revenue policy has boosted Edo IGR by more than 500% – Obaseki

Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki has revealed that his administration’s zero tolerance to waste in the civil service has boosted the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in nine pilot locations in Oredo LGA by more than 500 percent.
The governor disclosed this at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City during the recently celebrated annual International Workers’ Day in Edo State, where he also promised prompt and regular payment of workers’ salaries by the 26th of each month.

700 Indian brides given wooden bats as weapon to fight off abusive husbands

700 new brides in the Indian state of Madya Pradesh have been empowered to defend themselves against domestic violence by state minister Gopal Bhargava. At a mass wedding organised by the government, he gave the brides long wooden paddles to use as weapons in case their husbands turn abusive after taking alcohol. 
The paddles are the first of 10000 which he plans to dole out to women. On each of the paddles is a message which reads: 'For beating drunkards' and 'Police won't intervene'.

"IPOB Is A Fraud" - Joe Igbokwe

JOE Igbokwe, the publicity secretary of Lagos State chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC, has described the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, as a fraud.

Igbokwe, was reacting to the visit of Nnamdi Kanu to former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode at his Asokoro residence in Abuja, yesterday [see photos here].

The APC chieftain also questioned what Mr. Kanu and his so-called Biafra agitation had to do with a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, if what he is clamouring for was a genuine course.

Former Rivers State Governor, Hon.Rotimi Amaechi was a special guest on Channel's TvProgramme, HardCopy. The Transport Minister accused the former Minister of Aviation Mr Femi Fani Kayode of embezzling 2Billion Naira earmarked for the reconstruction of Portharcourt Int'l Airport.

He also added "We are not on the same level, He is not a character for me to talk about". He said there is evidence and that he is ready to provide it. Mr.Femi Fani Kayode on the other hand denied  the allegation and added that Julius Berger was given 1.5Billion out of the money, that he didn't touch a percent of the money.

Nigeria's Minister for Communications, Adebayo Shittu says President Muhammadu Buhari deserves a second term in office.
According to NIGERIAN TRIBUNE, Shittu said Buhari has fulfilled his campaign promises.
''His campaign was based on three focal points. The first one is that he committed himself to fighting insurgency and criminality in the North-East and the South-South respectively. Secondly, he committed himself to fighting corruption to a standstill. Thirdly, he committed himself to reviving the economy. He has made awesome achievements on all these points.''
