Shortly before noon on April 14 this year, incalculable joy erupted at the Justice Ahmed Badamasi-led Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Benin City.

The reason was that both petitioners – Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu – and all three respondents – Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Godwin Obaseki and All Progressives Congress (APC) had all been informed of their fates.

Oshiomhole advised that the Electoral Act should be amended such that if a parties bring a frivolous case such as that of the PDP and Ize-Iyamu, sufficient cost should be awarded against them to serve as deterrence to others.

The Edo State Election Petition Tribunal today dismissed the suit filed by the People’s Democratic Party, PDP and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu challenging the victory of Mr Godwin Obaseki and the All Progressives Congress, APC in the September 28, governorship poll in the state. [see here]

Pastor Ize-Iyamu had prayed the tribunal to declare him winner of the election stating that error of non-accreditation, over voting, improper ballot voting and other anomalies marred the electoral process.

Sad: 10-year-old boy jumps to his death after his parents banned him from watching T.V (photos)

A 10-year-old boy has left everyone heartbroken, after he jumped 20 floors to his death, after he was banned from watching T.V by his dad.

According to a notice posted by the local police’s official Weibo account, the incident happened in southwest China’s Chongqing municipality. The video clip of the incident, which has been shared online, films the boy falling down and smashing into a parked car beneath his family’s apartment in Dazu district.

His heartbroken relatives gathered at the scene, as the suicide incident sparked heated arguments among Chinese citizens.
