Nigerians Panic As Naira Finally hit N500 Per Dollar At Parallel Market

Nigerian naira on Monday crumbled to 500 per dollar at the parallel market sending significant shock to businesses as analysts predicted a sharp depreciation on the currency.

The currency plunged further against the United States dollar to an all time low record of 500 on Monday morning, down from 498 it closed on Friday.

Hospitality: “Nigeria generates 97% of its tourism revenue from domestic travel in 2016”

The Nigerian hospitality report 2017 which has officially been launched by Jumia Travel, has shown that the country generated 97% of its tourism revenue from domestic travel in 2016 while foreign travel accounted for 3%. Kushal Dutta, MD of Jumia Travel Nigeria stated this while overviewing the content of this year’s report at a press conference held at Four Points by Sheraton in Lagos.

Six People Killed in Quebec mosque shooting in Canada

At least  six people have been reportedly killed after a shooting took place at a mosque in Quebec City's Quebec Islamic Cultural Center, Canada .  The attack, which took place at the  is being investigated as an act of terrorism the province police said.

In what was described as a coordinated attack, witnesses say at least two gunmen wearing black fired indiscriminately into the dozens of worshipers in the mosque.

 Former PMAN President, Charly Boy has said the agitation for Biafra was a foolish venture and ask thoe clamouring for it to go back and develop the South-east region.

    Former member, Five Star music, Harrysong, has claimed that it was actually Kcee who begged him on ‘bended knees’ to help salvage his dying career.

    Last Friday, Harrysong was arrested by Five Star music and shortly after his release, the record label claimed that the Reggae Blues crooner had profusely begged Kcee to sign him into the label some years ago.

Okowa didn’t lose $10m to girlfriend - Delta Commissioner

 The Delta State Government has distanced the state Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, from an online report claiming he defrauded the state of $10m, only to lose the money to an unnamed girlfriend living in the United States of America.


The money, it was reported, was part of the bailout given to the state by the Federal Government  to offset workers’ salaries.

Pres. Barrow removes "Islamic" from the Gambia's official name



 Adama Barrow, The Gambia's new president, has vowed to reform the country's notorious intelligence agency and promised to ensure media freedom in the country.
Speaking at his first news conference since returning to take office on Thursday, Barrow announced plans to rename the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), a dreaded secret police accused by rights groups of forced disappearances and torture under the control of former leader Yahya Jammeh.
