Adamawa State governor, Muhammadu Jibrilla has cancelled the traditional Sallah homage.
A statement signed by the Commessioner of Information and Strategy, Ahmad Sajoh asked dignitaries to celebrate with their families.
The statement therefore urged Muslims to reflect on the significance of Eid-El-Kabir and pray for the progress of the country.
The long standing Sallah homage tradition had allowed traditional rulers, organised labour groups and community leaders to visit the governor at the Government House.
Community leaders had used the opportunity to discuss issues affecting their people or ask the governor for development projects in their areas
However, the Eid was celebrated peacefully throughout the state amid tight security at prayer grounds and at strategic points.
