Oba of Benin tasks traditional rulers on justice, peace dispensation

The Benin monarch Omo N'Oba N'Edo Uku-Akpolokpolo Oba Ewuare the second has challenged traditional rulers, Ohen, Edionweres and native stakeholders to use the traditional institutions to dispense Justice and peace to the people in their various domains.

Omo N'Oba said Justice, peace and fairness were major factors that can ensure a crime free society, economic and social wellbeing of the people

The royal father gave the challenge at Ekpoma the administrative headquarters of Esan West Local government Area of Edo state in his post coronation thank you visit to Esan land where several traditional dance troupe including the ancestral IKHINABOJIE and IGBABONELIMI dance groups thrilled all.
According to the royal father, apart from his thank you tour to the area, his visit to Esan land was to strengthen the age long social cultural and ancestral alliance between the Binis and Esans as well as to forge a stronger bond with the people of Edo Central senatorial zone.

Oba Ewuare maintained that the open mediation at the native court in his palace has brought justice in no small measure to the oppressed and urged the all traditional rulers to follow suit.

While enumerating the various measures put in place by the palace to ameliorate the suffering of the people, the monarch hinted that his palace was open to everyone including other ethnic groups to resolve traditional disputes capable of breach peace in their domains

He further enjoined traditional rulers and stakeholders to use their traditional powers to encourage their subjects on agro businesses to discourage human trafficking and illegal migration to foreign countries.

Earlier, the Esan Enigies in an address delivered by the enogie of Ekpoma, HRH Anthony Abumere on behalf of the council of Esan Enigies told the Omo N'Oba to as mater of urgency intervene in the incessant raping and killings of their subjects by Fulani herdsmen and forceful conversion of farm lands to grace fields have brought untold hardship to people in the area

He who also lamented the state of neglect including basic infrastructures in the zone, appealed to Oba Ewuare to Chanel their challenges to appropriate authorities for immediate action

While lauding Omo N'Oba's numerous efforts at repositioning traditional institutions in the country, the Esan traditional rulers, promised unflinching loyalty to the supreme royal father(Ewuare).
