In a statement signed by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Emeka Iheanacho, the AIG said a full scale investigation has been launched into the alleged assault by the Zonal Criminal Investigation and Intelligent Department.

AIG Adamu described the conduct of the police men as unprofessional saying they would be sanctioned as soon as investigation is concluded. He added that the act doesn’t depict the ethics and core values of the police as it violates the principle of democratic policing.

“We urge members of the public to continue to support the Nigeria Police force in its onerous task of providing a sustainable peace and security in our dear country”. Part of the statement read.
