The triennial National Delegates Conference of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, (NAWOJ) will on Friday begin in Benin City, the Edo State capital.
A statement by the Chairperson, Edo state chapter of NAWOJ, Flora Bossey revealed that female journalists from the 36 States of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja are expected at the event which will be declared open by the Governor of Edo state Mr Godwin Obaseki.
Also, she said hosting of the event will create opportunity to showcase the rich culture and natural resources of the State noting that plans are on top gear and concluded to host the conference where women of different caliber will be present.
While welcoming delegates from across the country, the statement added that, “Adequate arrangements have been made to ensure security and a pleasant stay in Benin City by the Women Journalists, some of who will be coming to Benin City for the first time.
She expressed profound appreciation to Edo State Government and other corporate organizations and individuals who made it possible for Edo to host the Conference.
