Mercy Aigbe’s marriage crashes over allegations of domestic violence and infidelity (photos)

Nollywood  Actress Mercy Aigbe has reportedly lost her 7 years old marriage to allegations of infidelity and domestic violence. According to reports, Mercy Aigbe's 7-year-old marriage to Lagos based hotelier, Mr. Lanre Genty is said to have be nothing but a pack of lies. The husband is accused of beating up his wife, while Mercy is accused of sleeping around as usual.

 

But at the middle of the who controversy, is a lady named Opetimiti.  Yes Opemititi who some say was like a “younger sister” to Mercy Aigbe, is being accused of sleeping with Mercy’s husband.

 A source close to the family revealed that Lanre's affair with Opemititi made it difficult for the couple to  reconcile their differences, thus leading to physical violence between the due recently.

Mr. Lanre is alleged to have beaten his wife so badly that the poor lady landed in the hospital with a swollen face and other physical injuries, and  consequently packed out of her matrimonial home after getting the husband arrested.

Though the husband tried denying the allegations of wife battering by professing love publicly to his wife in a post on social media, he later owned up to the allegations and accused the wife of promiscuity on social media; after Mercy had shared a post saying "No to Domestic Violence" .

So much drama with Nigeria celebrity marriages and the yellow pawpaw girls scattering marriages here and there na wah oh. Any way, if women like Folorunsho Alakija, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Joke Sylva, Oby Ezekwesili, etc who are truly successful are living in peace with their husband, one really wonders why our actresses can't seem to get it right?. Marriage is sustained through mutual respect. Hope they can make their way right and model young ones in the industry.
