Breaking: Over 200 Ndume's Supporters Take over National Assembly, Demand his Return [photos & video]
Supporters of senator Ali Ndume on Tuesday stormed the national assembly and barricaded its entrance in protest of the lawmaker’s suspension from the senate. The Senate last week suspended the former leader for a period of six months.
The decision of the senate was sequel to the presentation of a report by the Chairman, Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, led by Senator Samuel Anyanwu, PDP, Imo East.
Ndumw represents Borno south constituency.
Over 200 persons, carrying placards and banners, stormed the national assembly complex to demand Ndume’s reinstatement.
One banner read: “Southern Borno has been suspended from Nigeria’s political space.” see more photos from the protest and video below
