Arsenal & Liverpool target’s Real Madrid ultimatum

Madrid striker has come under heavy criticism this season, having been far less clinical than in previous years. While Zinedine Zidane has stuck by the Frenchman in favour of Alvaro Morata, Benzema is growing frustrated.

Cristiano Ronaldo also struggled badly for form prior to his Champions League exploits against Bayern Munich.

And the Portuguese superstar’s shift back into a central role of late has left Benzema out of position and less effective.

Ahead of the summer, it is said the 29-year-old has five offers from Arsenal, Liverpool, Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.

According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, Benzema will push for a sale if his situation at the Bernabeu is not reviewed.

The issue of Ronaldo taking his role in the side is one factor disrupting Benzema, but he also has complaints over his salary.

First XI regulars Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Ronaldo and Gareth Bale have been handed new deals by the club more than once.

However, Madrid’s hitman, who joined in 2009 from Lyon, has not been offered improved terms.

It is said Benzema is the only star of the team without a pay increase.

As a result, the France international has apparently made the decision that if no new contract is tabled, he will go.

Reports suggest Arsenal are willing to double his wages worth £150,000 a week, with Alexis Sanchez’s likely exit to help fund Benzema’s arrival at the Emirates.

But Arsene Wenger faces competition from Premier League rivals Liverpool who may potentially hijack a move.
