A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Edo State, Mr Roy Osariemen has backed the state government policy to rid the streets of trading.

Speaking to our reporter  yesterday, the Orhionmwon Local Government Area born stalwart appealed to residents of the state to ensure that the environmental policy is actualized for the infrastructural development of the state.


Roy said street trading can be avoided if only citizens of the state would do everything possible to sustain all developmental projects of the previous governments and not temper with the progressive movement of the state.




The ardent party faithful noted that the recent public display of wares on walkways by traders is what everybody must stand up against as it militates against environmental cleanliness and synch.

He solicited the corporation of all sons and daughters of the state both home and abroad to support the present administration in order to consolidate on the environmental and public utility policy of the previous administration.

He commended the state government, led by Mr. Godwin Obaseki on his courage to abolish illegal ticketing across the state adding that such decision was in a right step in the right direction.

According to him, "All Edolites must stand against street trading on walkways, indiscriminate parking of vehicles and loading of passengers by commercial bus drivers because it cause chaotic traffic jam in the city metropolis.

"The risk associated with the street trading cannot be overemphasized, therefore, let everybody come together and support the government to discourage the act", he said.
