5 Signs You Might Be Spending Too Much Money on Your Car

For many in Nigeria today, a car is a necessity rather than a luxury. It makes you mobile and you don’t get to experience the shenanigans of Lagos Danfos. In this recession, such monies can be used for other important things. Hence, you should look out for some warning signs that will alert you that you are spending too much money on your car. Jumia Travel discloses some of them.

You are a regular visitor to your mechanic

In a week, you visit your mechanic more than two times and in some cases, you leave your car at the workshop. Of course, every time you take your car to him, you have to pay for his service. It may be time to get rid of the car.

Uses too much fuel

The more you use your car, the more you spend on fuel. Also, considering the unpredictable cost and scarcity of fuel, the overhead expenses will increase. So, rather than going in your own car, you can go in your neighbour's car.

You are spending too much on parts

Cars require new parts but when you frequently have to buy new parts, you should be concerned. The reason for this may be because your mechanic is shortchanging you or your car needs a total checkup. You should make efforts to replace your car.

You don’t get any benefits from your insurance

Your insurance is expected to cover your expenses in the case of an unfortunate incident. Unsurprisingly, insurance doesn’t work like this. This said you should compare the insurance cost and the expenses for repairing your car, then decide which is preferable or suitable. If none works for you, you may decide to abandon the car.

You are always towing your car

There is nothing wrong with towing your car. However, when towing your car becomes a major feature of your daily routine, you should be the concern. This is because you will spend quite an amount in towing it. And if you do this twice or thrice a week, it will undoubtedly affect your finance.
