The Manifestation of Oshiomhole's Evil Legacy in Edo State

The Leadership of PDP is embarrassed and alarmed at the recent arrest of the leadership of APC in Oredo Local government area of Edo state arising from a petition of the APC state secretary, Chief Osaro Idah, alleging an assassination plot. Those arrested include the entire Oredo APC executive, from ward 1,2,3,4,5,6,9,11 and 12, Oredo Women Leader, Oredo LGA Chairman and State Youth Leader, Mr Osakpanwan Eriyo.

This is a sad chapter in our political history as party members now use threat of assassination to intimidate, cower, threaten and dehumanize fellow party members.

You will recall that in the eight years of Adams Oshiomhole's government, N48b was fraudulently withdrawn using the heading "Urgent Security Challenges". We now know that Edo state never faced any such challenge as we always informed the peace loving people of Edo State. It is now clear that APC members are the ones posing security challenges to themselves and the people of Edo state. It is common knowledge that Mr. Adams Oshiomhole introduced a regime of thuggery, one where the people were intimidated, brutalized and threatened to pay taxes and levies to all manner of men emboldened by the oppressor-in-chief, Adams Oshiomhole.

We call on Adams Oshiomhole to clarify how he spent N500million monthly for 8 years on the flimsy heading, "Urgent Security Challenges", as information reaching us indicates that the money was spent on his party leaders and thugs he enthroned as leaders in the various local governments across the state. We hear that it's the tinkering with this sharing formula that is leading to this issue of assassination and counter assassination threats.

We however sympathize with the situation the government and APC have found themselves, as it is known that the head of a gang of looters always demands the lion share!

We call on the leadership of APC and the government in Edo state to nip in the bud this ungodly development as it presents a clear and present danger to our state.
